Winning his bout against No.10-ranked redshirt senior Garrett Thompson and leading NIU wrestling to a 20-17 victory against Ohio University on Friday, redshirt junior Tommy Bennett was named the Mid-American Conference Co-West Wrestler of the week on Tuesday.

In his final dual of the night for the Huskies, Bennett took a 6-5 decision over Thompson to put NIU ahead of the Bobcats, leading toward a final 20-17 victory.

This is Bennett’s first MAC honor of his career, and NIU’s sixth of the season.
