Detours take effect
November 16, 1990
Beginning this week, for about the next three weeks, traffic must take marked detour routes to bypass Taylor Street between Haish Boulevard and Fourth Street due to storm sewer construction.
South First Street and south of Roosevelt will remain closed to through traffic.
The marked detour route for Taylor Street, eastbound, is Haish Boulevard north to Roosevelt, Roosevelt east to Fourth Street and Fourth Street south to Taylor Street.
The marked detour route for South First Street, southbound, is: Roosevelt east to South First Street to Fourth Street, south on Fourth Street to Barb Boulevard, west on Barb Boulevard to South First Street.
The construction work is in conjunction with the city’s $1.1 million South First Street Storm Sewer project to relieve flooding in neighborhoods north of Taylor Street between First and Third streets.
