Elect Cosentino into office
November 1, 1990
Democrat Jerry Cosentino should fill the office of Secretary of State.
His opponnent, Lt. Gov. George Ryan, seems to be the greater evil in this race.
This race is one of the many that comes down to which is the least harmful candidate for the position. Cosentino is that candidate.
Neither candidate is flawless. Cosentino’s questionable actions regarding his truck company and Ryan’s fiasco with the World Trade Center and record on labor issues and senior citizens shows that there is no best candidate for the job. However, they are the only choices available.
Both are armed with political attacks to use against the other and have done just that. As a result, they both demonstrated they can be perfect politicians with hands fully packed with mud.
However, Ryan did little to show any kind of backbone as lieutenant governor. Ryan had little to offer in that position and has shown no reason for the public to believe he will change for the better.
Cosentino may not be the best choice for Secretary of State, but Ryan’s performance in office has shown that Cosentino is the better one for the job.
Sometimes the best choice is the one that will do the least harm. Vote for Cosentino Nov. 6.
