Tour of campus offered
November 7, 1990
Prospective NIU students and their parents are invited to attend the second of three open houses next week.
The open houses are intended for high school juniors, seniors, their parents and anyone else interested in learning more about NIU and its programs.
The free program will be held in the Holmes Student Center Duke Ellington Ballroom Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“Last year was our biggest ever,” said Robert Burk, associate director of admissions.
He said about 1,800 students and parents attended NIU’s open houses.
Visitors will be able to view a brief audio-visual introduction to the campus, followed by a bus tour of the residence halls and meetings with campus representatives, Burk said.
Students will be able to meet with two or three representatives from the Student Financial Aid Office, representatives from all colleges and some fraternities, he said.
Students and parents also can meet with representatives from University Housing, Burk said.
