An NIU student reported she was raped early Wednesday morning in Katz Park on Dresser Road by an unknown attacker, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police said.

The student was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital after the attack, police said.

Although Capt. Jim Laben would not comment on the pending investigation, police reports described the suspect as a white male in his early 20s.

No charges have been filed in the case, said DeKalb County State’s Attorney Mike Coghlan.
