June 27, 1990
The 18th annual “Art at Ellwood” art fair and sale at the Ellwood House Museum grounds is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Art fair chairwoman, Marybeth Koos said there will be a variety of fine arts and crafts exhibited. Items will be of various styles in a wide range of prices.
Approximately 110 artists from the midwest will exhibit ceramics, paintings, prints, watercolors, textiles, leather-work, and jewelry. Koos said that some NIU faculty members will be included in the group of exhibiters.
Other crafts to be shown include Hmong art work, floral arrangements, quilts, baskets, hand-crafted wood furniture and more.
Hot dogs and pop will be sold by members of the Ellwood House Association Board.
The Ellwood mansion will be open for touring by admission from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Museum Director Jerry Brauer said the fees that the artists pay to exhibit their work will go towards the operating costs of the Ellwood House Museum. “It (the fair) has always been very successful,” he said.
The Ellwood House is located at 509 North First in DeKalb. Free parking is available nearby.
