A lack of available space has caused the NIU parking division office to change locations.

Campus Parking manager Helen Nodurft said the office relocated June 1 due to the need for expansion.

The new location is south of Lot 15 on the corner of Lincoln Terrace and Normal Road, Nodurft said.

“The change took place mainly because of the lack of space we had to work in,” Nodurft said.

“We have been placing notices on cars telling where the office is now at,” she said.

The parking division previously was in the Public Saftey Facility on Lucinda, Nodurft said, where the offices “overlapped” and crowded each other.

She said the Public Safety Facility also needed room for expansion.

The new location was formerly a private home later converted to office space, Nodurft said.

She said Lot 15 eventually will be more accessible after it is finished and a handicapped ramp is put in.
