‘Girls’ makes stop in DeKalb

On April 19th at 8 p.m. at the Egyptian Theatre, the Campus Activities Board Fine Arts committee will sponsor the hit musical production “Dreamgirls.”

The critically acclaimed show is set in the 1960s and early 70s and tells the story of three black backup singers who are transformed into a superstar singing group. It tells of the backstage and off stage struggles and joys of these individuals and the people who touch their lives.

The musical is filled with striking scenic effects, and recreates the classic sounds of vintage rhythm and blues as well as the driving force of Motown in its score.
