Woman charged with possession, intent to deliver

The North Central Narcotics Task Force arrested a Genoa woman Friday for allegedly owning and selling cocaine and marijuana after several months of investigation.

Lorrie C. Vine, 35, was charged by the task force with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Undercover agents met Vine and allegedly bought some drugs from her, said Rick Rokusek, North Central Narcotics Task Force director. “We made a buy first. It helps us get a search warrant,” Rokusek said.

After getting a warrant, the task force searched Vine’s apartment and found approximately two grams of cocaine and marijuana. The police also seized money and assorted drug paraphenalia.

Vine was taken to the DeKalb County Jail where she posted $5,000 in bond.

Vine faces a possible jail sentence of three to seven years and may be fined up to $150,000 for the offense, Rokusek said.

The investigation is continuing and further arrests are expected in the area, he said.

The task force is comprised of DeKalb, Kane, McHenry and Kendall county and NIU police departments.

Law enforcement agencies from each county entered into an inter-govermental agreement to combine their respective resources to fight drug-related crime in the northern Illinois area, he said.
