Presidential candidate receives AMA support

The American Marketing Association (AMA) announced its endorsment for Student Association president.

AMA President Sal Loschavio said the entire 783 member organization is endorsing Robert McCormack for SA president.

“We’re impressed with his background and what he is going to do,” Loschavio said.

McCormack spoke to the AMA Tuesday night and Loschavio said “he was magnificent.”

The AMA is endorsing McCormack because he shows a great interest in student programs and will create a better representation for the student body, Loschavio said.

“We don’t usually do things like this (endorse candidates), but he is a professional candidate,” he said.

Loschavio said at an AMA board meeting, none of the members showed interest in the other presidential candidate, John Fallon.

One reason the AMA did not endorse Fallon was because he failed to set a good example for the student body when he was arrested for illegally entering and remaining in a tavern as a minor, he said.

“The whole concept is unbelievable. With such a crackdown on alcohol policies, a student representative being arrested is unbelievable,” Loschavio said.
