A group of 25 to 30 individuals went on a snowball-throwing spree Saturday and caused more than $160 damage to windows, DeKalb police said.
The group, allegedly members of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, according to De- balls at the houses of the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity, Delta Upsilon fraternity and a private apartment at 929 Greenbrier Road, police said.
DeKalb police reports stated the group, allegedly wearing maroon jackets with “Pikes” on the back, also yelled,”send us a bill” while throwing the snowballs at the apartment.
No one was arrested in the three cases because fraternity representatives phoned police to say they would settle the matters themselves, police said.
Rob Martin, president of the Interfraternity Council and Pi Kappa Alpha said there was “a mix of individuals at the alleged incidents.” Martin also said the alleged snowball incident was done with “good intent” and “in fun.”
According to a member of another fraternity, Saturday’s actions began Friday night in fun. The member said other members of several NIU fraternities were involved in Friday night’s activities, but only a few participated Saturday.
