Students can question and join more than 70 campus organizations tomorrow as representatives gather together to provide information about student organizations.

Students can mingle with group representatives from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Duke Ellington Ballroom.

“We invite everybody to come,” said Z Ahmad, program coordinator of University Programming and Activities. “I’m all excited about it.”

The theme of the exposition is “Step into the Future.” The purpose is to get students involved in activities on campus and to “find out what NIU is all about,” Ahmad said.

Some of the groups that will be at the exposition include, AISEC, Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Phi, the American Marketing Association, Campus Crusade for Christ, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, Sigma Chi, Sigma Lambda Sigma, the Residence Hall Association, the Student Association and the Student Nurses Association. More than 50 other organizations will attend.

“It’s an excellent opportunity,” said Brenda Cummings, vice-president of the NIU chapter of the American Marketing Association. “It gives students a chance to meet other students and find out about organizations.”

AMA hopes to recruit 50 to 75 new members this spring, to add to their current 705 members. The NIU chapter is the largest in the midwest, but “we would like more of our members to become active,” Cummings said.

Student Association President Huda Scheidelman agreed the exposition is a “great opportunity for student organizations to get together and meet with other students. I would encourage students to go.”

The exposition is free. Coupons for bowling and pool at the Huskie Den, the HSC Bookstore, the Blackhawk Cafeteria and the Pow Wow Cafeteria will be given out to those who attend the exposition.
