Funeral services for Michael W. Tubbs, 18, will be at 11 a.m. today at the United Church of Byron, Second and Colfax Streets in Byron, Ill. Burial will be at Byron Cemetary.

Tubbs died Tuesday night after the plane he was flying crashed about one and one half miles southeast of Mt. Morris, Ill. He was flying to DeKalb to take four of his friends for a plane ride.

Survivors include his parents, Billy and Susan Tubbs, and his two younger sisters, Michelle and Mandy.

The incident is still under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and Cessna, the maker of Tubbs’ plane.
