Patrolman appointed

Gary Spangler has been appointed to patrolman by the DeKalb Police Department and the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. Spangler was previously employed at the Sandwich Police Department and most recently the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Police.

ICEBERG ice cream

Pi Sigma Epsilon will have an ICEBERG ice cream sale from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. today at the University Plaza. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to PADS.

Student featured

Greg Mucci, an NIU doctoral degree student, is pictured on the cover of the August 1989 issue of “T’ai Chi,” an international magazine of T’ai Chi Ch’uan. Mucci’s specialization is “mind/body and consciousness studies.”

Activities planned

The Bermuda Department of Tourism is continuing its 57 year tradition of a week-long program of activities, parties, contests, cruises, dances and sporting events for college students.

Poster contest

The United States Small Business Administration is sponsoring a contest for a selection of the 1990 poster. The theme of the poster is Small Business: Leading America Into the 21st Century.
