Scholarship available for aviation-related students

By Stephan L. Lopes

The Illinois Pilots Association has made available a $500 scholarship to a current college student who resides in Illinois.

Applicants must have an aviation-related major and be a full-time student.

The scholarship is for one year, but recipients may reapply each year. It is to be used to defray the cost of a college education and is sent directly to the university.

The selection committee is comprised of people involved in higher education and aviation professionals. The winner will be announced at the IPA’s annual banquet June 15-17, 1990, at the Sheraton Inn, Homewood, Ill.

The money for the scholarships comes from IPA chapters, individuals and corporations.

Application forms can be obtained by writing scholarship committee chairman Laurence McAneny at 3000 Mockingbird Lane, Granite City, Ill. 62040. Or, interested persons also can call IPA publicity person Patricia Chase Magon at (708) 331-2117.

Those wishing to make a contribution to the scholarship fund can send a check to the IPA Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 7367, Springfield, Il. 62791.
