HFR sponsors buffet

NIU’s Department of Human and Family Resources is presenting Chandelier East Buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. today in Adams Hall. The cost of the meal is $4 and reservations are required.
The menu includes apricot ham steak, spaghetti primavera, baked sweet potatoes, green beans, assorted salads, home-made breads, desserts and beverages. For more information, call 753-1895.
Travelogue presentation
“Irresistible India,” a travelogue presentation, will be shown to DeKalb County Farm Bureau members at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The presentation will be in the farm bureau’s upper auditorium.
News ethics, skills seminar
Technological skills and work ethics needed by newsmen and women in the coming century will be discussed by NIU alumnus Gary Watson at 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The seminar will be in Holmes Student Center’s University Suite. For more information, call 758-4844.
Office to host reception
The Office of Sponsored Projects will host its third annual reception on Nov. 15. The reception is for new faculty and those who submitted applications for extramural funding through the Office during the last fiscal year.
Irish folk band to perform
The Drovers, an Irish folk music band, will perform at 7 p.m. on Nov. 15 in NIU’s Diversions Lounge. The band will be the last act for the Campus Activities Board Coffeehouse Committee this semester. Admission to the concert is free.
Trip to festival planned
The DeKalb County Farm Bureau Membership Committee is offering a one-day trip to the Milwaukee Folk Fair Festival on Nov. 18. Interested persons can register for the trip at the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Office, 315 N. Sixth St.
The fair features performances by several ethnic groups, an international sidewalk cafe consisting of 37 nationalities and 300 foods, a world mart with more than 30 displays of imported and handcrafted gifts, cultural exhibits, demonstration workshops and an art exhibit.
YMCA night to be held
DeKalb County Farm Bureau families are invited to attend the YMCA Night from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 19. The free facility is open to members, their families and guests.
