The five men fled in a red Jeep Wagoner license plate number CB2180. The NIU Police located the vehicle and its owner.
The victim was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital at about 1 a.m. and released after receiving 12 stiches to his face. DeKalb Police have one suspect but have made no arrests, DeKalb Police Lt. Richard Moudy said.
