On October 21, at halftime during the NIU-University of Nevada at Las Vegas football game, the Campus Activities Board will announce the Cater/Wagner family as the winners of the “Generation Celebration” contest.

The contest, sponsored by CAB, is an annual event to recognize the family with the greatest number of NIU graduates representing the greatest number of generations, said Christy Parello, coordinator of CAB.

The winning family receives a plaque to recognize their family efforts. The Cater/Wagner clan’s earliest graduate graduated from NIU in 1910, representing almost four generations.

This contest “encourages participation amd makes families want to be part of NIU,” said Parello.
