Thursday night, the Holmes Student Center hosted the NIU Journalism Department’s New Student Fair.

On hand were representatives from the Society of Professional Journalists/Sigma Delta Chi,The Northern Star, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), TV_8 news and journalism department faculty.

After answering initial questions, broadcast news sequence professor Robert LaConto led interested students to TV_8 on an impromptu tour around the station. Northern Star representatives also led students on a tour of their newsroom.

In addition, PRSSA answered questions about what it might have to offer students.
