Join to fight racism
January 20, 1989
As I was reading a recent article in The Northern Star I read something that really made me wonder. It was a quote by Pam Bozeman, the former Black Student Union president, about how the black students should “forget their personal differences,” and form a union to be strong in the fight against racism.
Although I think Ms. Bozeman makes a good point, isn’t it about time that all the students of NIU join together to fight racism? It’s time that we recognize our differences and learn to deal with them. Isn’t that what Unity in Diversity is all about?
