Language lacking

BSU president Tracy Deis’ opening remark in the Dec. 5 issue of Star on the Sigma Chi situation of “I’m pissed, and I’m sure everyone else is” struck a discordant note in me.

To use such poor language only serves to draw attention away from the issues at stake and focus attention on Deis’ apparent lack of good taste and good manners. Why not say, instead, “I’m angry” or “I’m very concerned about this situation”?

It seems to me that the leadership of the BSU and the Sigma Chi fraternity operate at about the same level of sophistication, far from what one should expect in a university setting.
