Do we really need mini VCRs?

What will they think of, or rather, make pocket sized next?
The ever expanding world of high technology in the entertainment business has produced many wondrous products over the past few years. The Walkman, the mini television and the video-cassette recorder are just a few of the inventions which have made our lives a little more luxurious than they should be.
Now Sony Corp. has come out with a product that uses ideas from all three of those inventions—the mini VCR, complete with TV screen. This VCR, which is selling for about $1,000, is about the size of a tall paperback book.
Sony claims the product is already a success in Japan after being tested by commuters. In fact, the company is staking much of its future in the success of this product.
It seems as if technology has gotten to the point where once an electronic invention hits the market, it only will be a few years until a mini version of the product is released.
It might only be a matter of time until the Walkman is replaced by this mini VCR, and instead of listening to Bon Jovi, joggers will be watching Beverly Hills Cop II.
