Meeting executed by phone

The Board of Regents Executive Committee held a telephone conference call meeting Aug. 18 mainly to discuss personnel transactions at Illinois State University and NIU.

Regents Chancellor Roderick Groves said the meeting was of routine character. He said every August the Regents meeting is held by phone.

“The full report of the conference call will be presented to the board at the September meeting.

“That meeting consisted mostly of preliminary actions of the board,” Groves said.

He also said one personnel transaction which will affect NIU this fall was the appointment of Barbara Henley, previous assistant vice president of student affairs at NIU, to associate vice president of student affairs.

Henley said her general responibilities will be the same, but there will be added supervisory duties with her new position.

“Some of my new duties as associate vice president of student affairs will be working with the Student Financial Aid office, University Programming and Activities office, and the recreation center.”

Henley said this is a new position for the Student Affairs office, and in the past these offices would report directly to the vice president of Student Affairs.

The next Board of Regents meeting will be held on Sept. 15 at NIU.
