IBHE to discuss revenue
July 5, 1988
Salary increases, tuition hikes and higher education revenue dominate the agenda of the Illinois Board of Higher Education, scheduled to meet today at Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago.
Kenneth Beasley, assistant to NIU President John LaTourette, said monetary issues are no doubt very important to the board at this time with the recent allocation of $65 million in funding for higher education.
Other items on today’s agenda include information about the 1988 Report on Minority Student Participation and status of campus policies against illegal drug and alcohol use. The latter report deals with what the IBHE believes is the growing problem of drug and alcohol abuse on Illinois college campuses.
The IBHE also will take action concerning recommendations on the report of the committee on the study of student financial aid.
