Discussions continue on bylaw suggestions
March 9, 1988
The Student Association Internal Affairs Committee will continue bylaw revision recommendations tonight.
The IAC discussed several recommendations involving SA organizations. At the Feb. 24 meeting, committee member Diana Turowski recommended merging the Student Committee On Political Education with the Student Committee On Political Action. Members of the IAC agreed to the dissolution of SCOPE because SCOPA is directed more toward action and involvement, SA Vice President Cam Davis said.
The committee will meet at 7 p.m. in the SA Conference Room to further discuss bylaw revisions.
The IAC also decided to recommend removal of the Programming and Activities Committee from the bylaws and request the possibility of its replacement with a liaison between the SA and the Campus Activities Board, Turowski said.
At the March 7 meeting, the IAC decided to recommend the dissolution of the International Relations Committee. Member Becky Doetsch said the IRC repeats what the Minority Relations Committee has in its bylaws.
Minority Relations Adviser Larry Robertson said it already was understood that international relations students are a minority.
