No charges were filed Monday in connection with the death of a Malta resident after an NIU student, losing control of her car, hit his vehicle and forced him off the road.
Scott D. Hudson, 33, of Malta, was pronounced dead at the scene 8 a.m. Monday.
Maureen A. Irwin, 21, of 920 Greenbrier Road Apt. 7, was driving west on South Malta Road about one half mile east of University Road when she hit the driver’s side of Hudson’s vehicle, traveling east.
Malta police said Irwin lost control of the vehicle because of ice on the road. Police said arrest is pending investigation.
Irwin was driving a 1987 Jeep Pickup and Hudson was driving a 1984 Chevrolet Camaro.
Irwin and her passenger, Ronald H. Campbell, 23, of 317uU N. Fifth St., were transported to Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Irwin was reported to be in stable condition Monday, and Campbell was treated and released.
