Although DeKalb Fire Department paramedic Tim Hughes tried finding true love on “The Love Connection,” his date turned out to be an “airhead,” Hughes said.

Hughes, 24, was featured on the daytime TV dating game Monday and Tuesday where he picked Kat, a registered nurse from Los Angeles, as his date.

“We went out to a real nice restaurant, but I could tell in the beginning we weren’t going to get along.”

Hughes said the two feuded as show host Chuck Woolery interviewed them about their date. “She needled me, but I started it. I called her an airhead.”

Kat snapped back and called him fat, Hughes said.
