Antenna removal

It has come to my attention that as of approximately May 25, 1987, the television antenna system at DeKalb Plaza was disconnected once again.

As you may or may not be aware, the antenna system was disconnected in 1983 and cable was installed, forcing DeKalb Plaza tenants to subscribe to Warner Cable. At that time, several constituents brought the matter to my attention. After numerous telephone conversations and correspondences with American Property Management, Warner Cable, the DeKalb Cable Advisory Board and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the matter was resolved and the antenna system was reconnected. Please note that it was unlawful according to Federal regulations for DeKalb Plaza to alter a condition of tenancy such as the availability of the antenna system.

Given such Federal regulatory constraints, I would hope that DeKalb Plaza will restore the antenna system with all due expediency. After all, compelling DeKalb Plaza residents to subscribe to cable television imposes a great financial hardship on the residents, most of whom are experiencing difficulties in meeting even their needs for basic necessities.
