Students in need of a bicycle, calculator, cassette player, watch or ring can attend an auction Saturday held by NIU’s Public Safety Department in the center lobby of Huskie Stadium.
Items recovered by the University Police, evidence from the UPs’ investigations and lost-and-found articles will be on sale, said UP telecommunicator Mike Larmon.
“All kinds of things like bicycles, calculators, watches and cassette players will be sold,” Larmon said.
UP Lieutenant Ron Williams said the items may be inspected by buyers starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, and the auction will begin at 10 a.m. The items will be sold “as is,” and only cash will be accepted, Williams said.
Auction items may be reclaimed through Friday by providing proof of ownership. “This may include make, model, serial number and other means of identification,” Williams said.
Students who wish to bid on the items are asked to obtain bidding numbers from the clerk of the auction before the auction begins, Williams said.
