Man dead in running auto

A 22-year-old DeKalb man was found dead by his father Thursday morning in a running car inside the family’s closed garage.

Kevin Hudson, 677 Haish Blvd., was found by his father, Donald Hudson, DeKalb Police reports stated. Hudson went to the alley behind his house to empty the garbage and heard the fan from his Honda running in the garage, the report stated. Hudson opened the overhead garage door and found Kevin, the report stated.

DeKalb Police Detective Jim Kayes said there were two cars in the garage Hudson was found in. The car which Hudson was in was running, and the other car had the keys in the ignition in the “on” position. The second car had stopped running on its own, the report stated.

udson was pronounced dead at 8:37 a.m. Thursday by Chief Deputy Coroner Earl Tischler, a DeKalb County Coroner employee said. The autopsy had not been made Thursday afternoon, and no foul play is suspected, the employee said.

The case is being investigated by the DeKalb Police Department and Dekalb County Coroner Dennis Miller, the employee said. A coroner’s inquest is expected within three to four weeks, she said.
