Test ban needed

On Feb. 5, 1987, the United States government will have another nuclear weapons test. This test will release, as usual, downwind radiation. The incidence of leukemia is 40 percent higher than normal in the communities that surround the Nevada test site. This is why I strongly support a Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty in 1987. A treaty of this type would prohibit underground nuclear tests. As a concerned health professional, I urge the people of this community to call their local public officials and show opposition to this scheduled nuclear test. Call Senator Simon at 202-224-2152, Senator Dixon at 202-224-2854 and Congressman Hastert at 202-225-2976.
