University Police arrested three men Monday night after one man allegedly pulled out a gun at the Chick Evans Field House.
Alan Shubert, 21, 1307 W. Lincoln Hwy., was arrested at 11:19 p.m. Monday at his residence after an argument which occurred in the field house after an OCR basketball game, University Police Lt. Ron Williams said. Shubert allegedly displayed a gun in the field house, but the gun was not fired and there were no injuries, Williams said. Shubert was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful restraint, he said.
Joseph Pettie, 33, 345 E. Lincoln Hwy., was arrested at his residence early Tuesday morning, Williams said. Pettie was charged with obstructing a peace officer and possession of cannabis, he said. Pettie slammed the door in an officer’s face after he opened the door, Williams said.
A third man was arrested Monday but was released after questioning, Williams said.
State’s Attorney Phil DiMarzio said aggravated unlawful restraint is a class-three felony, punishable up to two to five years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Unlawful use of a weapon is a class-four felony, punishable up to one to three years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine, DiMarzio said.
Obstructing a peace officer and possession of cannabis are both misdemeanors, punishable up to one year in prison and a fine up to $1,000, DiMarzio said.
