Greek Row is dancing back to various decades for Alpha Sigma Alpha’s Do It To The Crowd from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in the Duke Ellington Ballroom.

All proceeds raised from ticket sales and the 50/50 raffle goes toward the Special Olympics, one of Alpha Sigma Alpha’s philanthropic partners that gives children with special needs and disabilities a chance to train and compete in athletic competitions.

Do It To The Crowd was named after the top song in 1989 by Twin Hype. Teams, which have a maximum of 14 people, are given two to three minutes to impress judges with a dance routine choreographed by members of their chapter. Teams choose which decades that they are dancing to.

Dances are judged on difficulty, originality, unification, theme requirement, crowd response, requirements fulfilled and overall performance according to Emily Staples, sophomore business administration major, Alpha Sigma Alpha philanthropy chairman.

People should attend Do It To The Crowd because it is a fun night filled with amazing dances all in support of the amazing athletes of Special Olympics.” said Staples. “If you don’t come for the dances, come in support of those athletes and their courage to compete against all odds.”
