Preparing a productive workflow

By Amy Caboor

Don’t let the weather push tasks and goals away, there’s still a way to be productive.

First, make a list of what needs to be done. According to Ryder Carroll, creator of the organizational method called Bullet Journaling, there are three things that all of tasks and goals fall into: what is currently being worked on, what should be worked on, and what wants to be worked on. These categories can cover any part of life, but is everything that is thought of necessary? If it needs to be completed no matter what, and if it absolutely matters, then yes it is necessary.

Once these tasks are valued, knowing what needs to be done next becomes much easier. Completing these tasks is simple after all distractions have been removed. Being in a loud environment with music, television or cell phone notifications can harm workflow more than it can help it, as Carroll explains in his book, The Bullet Journal Method.

Having a list and a readied environment will finally allow you to accomplish your tasks. With these simple changes, you can realistically complete your work.
