This years students who have won the Forward, Together Forward Scholarships have been announced for the 11th time.

Since Feb. 14, 2008 55 students who embody the spirit of those who were lost have been awarded the scholarship.

The students who have received the scholarship demonstrate academic excellence, strength of character, motivation, inspiration, integrity and high regard for others, according to the NIU website. 

The 2019 winners are; Ainsley Galvez, operations management and information system major, Kristen Koehler, elementary education and reading major, Emily Schaumberg, music education major, Pablo Valenica-Garcia, athletic training major and Keelan Wright, music education major. 

The winners have each received a $5,000 scholarship, and more than 1,800 donors have given over $745,000 to support the fund.
