Chicagoland artist reveals artwork in DeKalb

By Amy Caboor

The University is welcoming artist Jeroen Nelemans Wednesday. He will be presenting his work and facilitating discussion regarding the meaning behind his work, his artistic thought process and more.

Originally from the Netherlands, Nelemans has now found himself in the Chicago art scene. His work explores spatial and color representation in digital media. He mostly takes inspiration from the imagery and concepts of pre-digital work to help push his own concept and ideas further.

A lot of Neleman’s work plays on the separation of nature and technology, and focuses on how these two elements may not be as conceptually different as most people think. He takes rendered images and brings them to a physical form, opening up the debate between the conversation of natural and unnatural further.

For further analysis and explanation of Neleman’s work, visit Altgeld Hall at 5 p.m. Wednesday for an hour-long discussion.

This event is not affected by class cancellations.
