Library to host finals week events to encourage stress management

DeKALB — Founders Memorial Library will be holding events through the week of finals to allow students to take a break from studying with relaxing activities or furry friends.

From 8 a.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Friday, event organizers will host Coloring to calm at Founders Library. The continuous event will be located in the first-floor lobby near the display cases, where participants can find others to color with. Supplies to color with will be provided.

The library will also welcome Newfoundland dogs Gladus, Edyth and Elmur to help students de-stress. 

The dogs will be on campus from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for students to pet and mingle with while managing stress from finals.

Other locations on campus will be hosting events geared toward dealing with the stress of finals as well including the Center for the Study of Women, Gender and Sexuality’s Crepes & Cocoa event, taking place froom noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday in Reavis Hall.
