Kwame Raoul elected Illinois attorney general

Democrat Kwame Raoul was elected as Illinois attorney general, winning against Republican candidate Erika Harold and Libertarian candidate Bubba Harsy.

In 2004, Raoul was appointed to fill the vacancy left in the legislature by former State Senator Barack Obama’s election to the U.S. Senate, according to his official website.

Harold conceded to Raoul in the Illinois attorney general’s race. The voting margins in DeKalb showed a close race between Raoul and Harsy, with Raoul ultimately winning Illinois by a landslide.
