DeKALB — NIU administrators will be hosting the President’s Holiday Appreciation Gathering, featuring desserts and music by the NIU Jazzlet.

The event will take place from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the Altgeld Auditorium. NIU President Lisa Freeman and her team will be hosting the event, according to the NIU Events Calendar.

Representatives from the Huskie Food Pantry and Communiversity Gardens will also be in attendance to accept donations and sign up volunteers in the holiday spirit.

The groups work to fight food insecurity within the NIU community and monetary donations allow for the purchase of items in bulk, stretching donations further.

University officials have authorized an employee release time to attend the holiday open house, and supervisors are encouraged to aide participation for attendees. Faculty and staff with questions can contact Human Resource Services at 815-753-6000.
