Billy Joel tribute comes to Egyptian

Songs like “We Didn’t Start the Fire” and “My Life” are being brought to life by The Stranger: A Tribute to Billy Joel 7:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St.

Named after the album that rose Billy Joel to stardom in 1977, The Stranger plays hit songs spanning his career and capturing the spirit of his music.

Formed in 2009 by lead vocalist and pianist Mike Santoro, the band now tours with Fred Updegraft, Daniel Rodriguez, Steven Daley and Evan Bloom.

Santoro was born and raised in Levittown, New York, just a few miles from Billy Joel’s childhood home, according to the band’s website. The band now plays concerts, festivals and high-profile events, bringing the music of Billy Joel to fans across the country.
