DeKALB — The Annie Glidden North Revitalization Plan is entering a public comment period Oct. 2 through 19.

The plan aims to improve the quality of living for residents by focusing on specific projects for the neighborhood, according to a Sept. 28 City of DeKalb news release.

The revitalization effort began in 2017 when the DeKalb City Council authorized an agreement with Camiros, Ltd. on Aug. 14. Camiros is a planning firm based in Chicago focused on neighborhood improvement.

The Annie Glidden North Revitalization Plan also included a Task Force with members selected by Mayor Jerry Smith in order to represent the different stakeholders in the community.

Three community meetings have been held to gain feedback and input from the residents of the Annie Glidden North corridor which includes Greek Row and the apartment complexes on either side of Varsity Boulevard.

The final community meeting will take place 6 p.m. Oct. 10 in the University Village Apartment Complex Community Room, 722 N. Annie Glidden Road.
