Breaking: Police investigating robbery

DeKALB — DeKalb Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at approximately 6:58 p.m. Monday off-campus in the 800 block of Ridge Drive. Two victims reported four to five people wearing masks robbed them of personal property and subsequently fled the area on foot, according to an NIU safety bulletin sent at 8:20 p.m. by NIU police.  

The suspects were all described as dark-skinned males wearing masks. 

DeKalb Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 11:11 p.m. Monday off-campus in the 900 block of Ridge Drive. The victim reported two people, one armed with a firearm, robbed him of personal property and subsequently fled the area southbound.

Police are advising individuals who live in, or who must travel through, that area to exercise caution. If you have any information related to this incident or if you witness any suspicious activity, please report it immediately to the NIU Police and Public Safety at 815-753-1212, or the DeKalb Police Department at 815-748-8400.
