Glam rock group Sweet is coming to DeKalb 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre, 135 N. Second St. Sweet is known for hit songs like “Ballroom Blitz” and “Fox On The Run,” and is currently on it’s 50th anniversary tour across the country.

Sweet formed in 1968 and quickly made waves with its first hit single, “Blockbuster,” which went on to achieve platinum status, according to a news release from the Egyptian Theatre.

The original lineup featured vocalist Brian Connolly, bassist and vocalist Steve Priest, drummer Mick Tucker and guitarist Frank Torpey.

The lineup touring in the U.S. this year is bass player Steve Priest’s iteration of the band, according to the band’s website. This version has been touring the U.S. since 2008.
