“Would you like some cheese with that wine?”

 

August 25 marks the lesser celebrated (yet equally important) national holiday, Wine and Cheese day! For those of you students that are already heading back to campus for the Fall semester, DeKalb offers a local place to sip your precious merlot.

 

Tapa La Luna in downtown DeKalb is closest to campus and offers a variety of wines, as well as lunar-themed cocktails if the wine isn’t your preference. According to the Tapa La Luna website, the restaurant decided on their name from a legend of the tapa tradition. This began when Castile’s King, Alfonso the Wise, recovered from an illness by drinking wine and nibbling small dishes.
