DeKALB — Residents can expect detoured access from Annie Glidden Road to I-88 as of Monday.

The Illinois Tollway will be resurfacing and rebuilding I-88 ramps on a stretch of of the interstate between IL-251 and Orchard Road, according a March 23 Illinois State Toll Highway Authority press release.

The first phase of the project is estimated to last six weeks, and all four of the Annie Glidden interconnection ramps to I-88 will be closed during the reconstruction.

Travelers will be detoured to the Peace Road interchange to access I-88.

After construction to the west-bound lane is complete, the remaining three ramps will close and drivers will again be detoured to the Peace Road interchange for access to the interstate.

In addition to rebuilding the ramps, bridge deck repairs and lighting improvements within the corridor have also been scheduled.

Drivers can also expect the two-laned interstate to be reduced to one lane during construction.

All construction to the ramps is expected to be complete by the end of summer.
