Four grapplers on the wrestling team were named to the 2018 Academic All-MAC Team.

“These young men continue to make NIU proud,” said Head Coach Ryan Ludwig, according to NIU Media Services. “The way they handle themselves in the competitive arena and in the classroom speaks volumes about their strong character.”

Redshirt junior Quinton Rosser, redshirt junior Andrew Scott, sophomore Brock Hudkins and redshirt sophomore Caleb Gossett are four of 39 Mid-American Conference wrestlers to earn the award.

Rosser is a nursing major and holds a 3.84 GPA. He earned MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week from his performance on Jan. 29 to Feb. 4. Scott, an electrical engineering major, holds a 3.54 GPA. He was named to the Dean’s List in the fall semester of 2017.

Hudkins earned a 3.34 GPA majoring in pre-physical therapy. Hudkins qualified for the 2018 NCAA Championships and was 17-12 at 125 pounds. Gossett occupies a 3.22 GPA while majoring in Leadership and Management. He was named NIU Scholar Athlete of the week Nov. 27. The Huskie heavyweight finished the season with a 15-16 record.
