Dance Marathon is a nationwide fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. This fundraiser benefits 170 pediatric hospitals across North America and are the only children’s charity committed to having 100 percent of the funds raised stay local to support local kids according to Dance Marathon’s National website. Since its start, the program has raised over $200 million for kids. NIU raised $28,221.50 at the event Saturday. Organizations were given one of six team captains, which were or currently are patients of Children’s Miracle Network. The kids were able to visit NIU with their families and share their story about how these organizations have changed their lives.
