Greenbrier shooting suspects arrested after fleeing to Georgia

DeKalb Police Department officials announced two suspects alleged to have been involved in an October shooting have been taken into custody in Georgia.
Khalief McAllister, 20, of DeKalb, and Sean Hayden, 22, of Aurora, are being held in Gwinnett County Jail in Georgia after investigators developed leads that McAllister and Hayden fled to Georgia after 20 shots were fired on Greenbrier Road Oct. 20.
“We are working tirelessly to investigate all the recent incidents where shootings occurred,” said John Petragallo, DeKalb Police Department deputy chief in a Nov. 21 DeKalb Police Department press release. “Our work is not yet done, but we are pleased with the progress we are making to take those who place our community in danger off the streets.”
Investigators conducted several searches in DeKalb and Aurora to arrest McAllister and Hayden. After receiving credible information, investigators concluded the suspects fled to Snellville, Georgia Nov. 3, according to the press release.
The DeKalb Police Department contacted the Snellville Police Department and the United States Marshal Service for assistance locating and arresting McAllister and Hayden. Both suspects were arrested Nov. 20.
Warrants for their arrests on aggravated battery and mob action charges were issued earlier this month. Both suspects are being held on $250,000 bonds.
DeKalb investigators will travel to Gwinnett County to question McAllister and Hayden about the incident.
Four suspects have now been arrested and charged for the shooting. DeKalb Police Department officials arrested two other individuals Nov. 2 on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated discharge of a weapon.
“We are very pleased with the work our investigators did to identify and locate these two offenders,” Petragallo said in the release. “We also want to thank our law enforcement partners in Gwinnett County and the U.S. Marshal’s for their assistance in locating and arresting these offenders.”
