Coach of the Year: Sean McVay
McVay is the youngest head coach in NFL history. McVay is the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams, who currently is first in the NFC West at 6-2. The Rams finished 4-12 last season, under former head coach Jeff Fisher. McVay should win coach of the year for being able one of the worst franchises in the NFL to one of the best.
Offensive Player of the Year: Carson Wentz (NFC) and Alex Smith (AFC)
Wentz is having an excellent season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are 8-1, lead by the stellar offensive play of Wentz. Wentz has thrown 23 touchdowns and five interceptions, along with 2,262 yards.
Alex Smith has been nearly perfect all season with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are 6-3 this season. Smith has thrown for 18 touchdowns and ONE interception, along with 2,444 yards. With his great decision making the Chiefs look to make a deep playoff run.
Defensive Player of the Year: DeMarcus Lawrence (NFC) and Calais Campbell (AFC)
DeMarcus Lawrence is having an explosive season for the Dallas Cowboys. He has 10.5 sacks on the year and continue to become better every week. Calais Campbell is leading the tough Jacksonville Jaguars defense. Campbell has 11 sacks on the season and is a force on the defensive line.
Most Valuable Player: Tom Brady
Tom Brady is 40 years old. Brady is still playing very efficiently. This would be his third NFL MVP award. Brady has thrown for 16 touchdowns and two interceptions, along with 2,541 yards. Brady continue his winning ways this season, sitting at 6-2 and first in the AFC East. Tom Brady is an animal and will continue to win in the playoffs and possibly another Super Bowl, if he continues to play at a high level. At 40 he still shows no signs of slowing down.
