Quenneville Loses it Practice

After a rough stretch for the Chicago Blackhawks, including a three game losing streak to some less than impressive teams, Coach Joel Quenneville got fed up at practice. After not seeing what he wanted from his team, Quenneville started dropping F-bombs and making the players skate laps.

“I didn’t like the last part of our practice. I thought the intensity and pace went down to a tough to watch or look at it. Let’s go,” said Quenneville, “The pace wasn’t good enough.”

“I’ve never, in my three  years covering this team, I’ve never seen that happen in a practice,” said Chris Hine, Blackhawks beat reporter for The Chicago Tribune.

Coach Quenneville typically has his team participate in “battle drills” when he doesn’t like what he sees from them. Battle drills are when two players engage in a battle for the puck along the boards.

This outburst came shortly after rumors began to circulate about Quenneville being on the hot seat. The message appears to have been received, as the team responded the next night with a three to zero win over the Philadelphia Flyers.
